Work-Related Road Risk Course: Safe Driving

FORS Professional Safe Driving is two half-day driver training modules that focus on road risk and the safety of vulnerable road users. The modules highlight a driver’s regulatory responsibilities and other crucial topics that can adversely affect road safety.

The course highlights a driver’s regulatory responsibilities, the importance of safe driving practices on motorways, rural and urban roads, and other hot topics that can negatively impact safe driving such as driver fitness, health, distraction and impairment. The course includes a practical on-cycle session and a theory module.

By the end of the training course, drivers will be able to:

  • Explain the moral, economic and legal reasons for safe driving.
  • Adopt the qualities and professionalism needed to improve road safety.
  • Share the road safely by applying defensive driving techniques.
  • Reduce road risk in rural, urban and motorway environments.
  • Describe the vehicle technology and equipment that improves road safety.

Both Safe Driving modules are approved for three-and-a-half hours Driver CPC. Safe Driving applies to drivers of all vehicle types and supersedes the FORS Professional Safe Urban Driving (SUD) and Van Smart courses.

Safe Driving meets the mandatory Work-related road risk driver training requirement at FORS Silver.
