Demonstrate ongoing improvement in fuel efficiency, road safety and sustainability and WRRR/CLOCS compliance with FORS Silver.
You must be Bronze accredited to apply for Silver.

What are the FORS Bronze requirements?
To become FORS Bronze accredited, you must meet the requirements set out in Section 3: Bronze Accreditation of the FORS Standard.
These cover four key areas:
Management
You’ll need policies and evidence that cover:
- Insurance, licences, and permits
- Health and safety responsibilities
- Complaint handling and risk assessments
- Health and fitness declarations
- Annual driver licence checks
Vehicles
You must show how you:
- Conduct and record regular safety checks
- Manage servicing, MOTs and defect reporting
- Keep records of tax, insurance and emissions data
Drivers
Operators must:
- Maintain up-to-date driver records
- Carry out health checks and licence reviews
- Provide driver handbooks and policy briefings
- Ensure drivers sign off on rules and expectations
Operations
Your business should demonstrate:
- Efficient route planning
- Clear fuel and environmental policies
- Collision and incident monitoring
- Risk assessments for driving-related activities

FORS Bronze Accreditation?
FORS Bronze is the entry-level accreditation that shows your fleet meets key legal, safety, and environmental standards.
How do I register for FORS Bronze?
You can register for FORS Bronze directly via the FORS website. You’ll need to complete an online application, prepare evidence, and pass an on-site audit.
What documents do I need for a FORS Bronze audit?
You’ll need policies and records covering areas such as driver health and licence checks, vehicle maintenance, insurance, risk assessments, and environmental policies.
Always refer to the latest version of the FORS Standard for full details.
Do I need written policies for everything?
If you are a small operator (with fewer than five vehicles and fewer than five employees), you can explain some requirements during an audit instead of providing written documents. Larger operators must provide written documentation.
What training is required for FORS Bronze?
Your responsible person must complete a FORS-approved management course. Drivers should be briefed on key policies and complete an annual health declaration.

How long does FORS Bronze accreditation last?
Bronze accreditation is valid for 12 months. You will need to renew it each year by passing a follow-up audit.
How much does FORS Bronze accreditation cost?
Costs depend on your fleet size. You can check the current pricing and fees.
What happens if I fail the Bronze audit?
You will receive a report highlighting what needs to be improved. Once those issues are resolved, you can reapply for the audit.
Can I go straight to FORS Silver or FORS Gold?
No, FORS Bronze is a mandatory first step. You must achieve and maintain Bronze before applying for Silver or Gold.
