All FORS Professional manager training is delivered remotely.
FORS Practitioner is a series of 16 highly informative and insightful modules that cover all aspects of fleet management. Designed to assist fleet managers in their busy everyday roles, the modules provide the tools you need to reduce road risk and environmental impact, boost the performance of your transport operation and help meet the requirements of the FORS Standard.
Each FORS Practitioner module is three hours. Discounted Practitioner modules are available for FORS operators at £70+VAT per person.
From April 2023, you will be able to complete your journey towards a FORS Practitioner qualification by attending six mandatory and four optional modules from a group of nine modules. All ten modules must be completed within 12 months from the first course you completed.
Advanced Practitioner is a new FORS Professional qualification that recognises and demonstrates your professional development in fleet management. You can achieve Advanced Practitioner by completing 15 of the 16 FORS Practitioner training modules.

This course highlights the importance of policies and shows you how to identify when new policies are needed or existing policies within your organisation need to be updated. You will also learn how gather information for and write detailed policy documents.
FP 02 - Managing work related road risk - MANDATORY

During this course you will develop your risk management procedures to manage work related road safety. The workshop will show the legal and regulatory responsibilities you have and the importance of risk management and record keeping.
FP 03 - Managing driver fitness and health - MANDATORY
FP 03 – Managing driver fitness and health
This course will show you the legal requirements for managing driver fitness and impairment. You will learn to identify the signs and understand the causes of lack of fitness and impairment and how to develop the appropriate procedures to address them.
FP 04 - Managing driver training and development - MANDATORY

This course highlights your legal responsibilities in managing driver assessment and training and supports you in developing a plan. You will learn how to assess the outcomes of training and evaluate its impact to ensure your training plan is successful.
FP 05 - Collision procedures and analysis - MANDATORY

In this course you will learn the principles of investigating, recording and analysing collisions and how to develop your post collision procedures. You will learn to interpret data enabling you to put remedial actions in place to further improve safety.
FP 06 - Vehicle serviceability and roadworthiness - MANDATORY

Following this course you will be aware of the legislative requirements relating to vehicle roadworthiness and be able to develop audit procedures and internal management systems to ensure efficient management of your fleet.
FP 07 - Fuel efficiency and low emissions - MANDATORY

By attending this course you will learn about the impact freight operations have on the environment and what action you can take to reduce fuel usage and how you can monitor your own environmental impact.
FP 08 - Managing transport infringements
FP 08 – Managing transport infringements
This course will introduce you to the FORS PCN tracker, which is used to monitor road transport fines and charges. You will also learn what other methods and policies you can implement to help reduce the number of PCNs and FPNs you receive.
FP 9 - Managing fleet performance

This course covers benchmarking and its part in continuous improvement. You will learn which KPIs to monitor and how to use an appropriate benchmarking system to measure operational performance.
FP 10 - Managing noise pollution

Following this course you will be able to establish and understand the importance of noise on the environment and who is affected both inside and outside of the operation. You will also learn the positive and negative outcomes from transport and delivery noise and how to assess, develop and implement a noise assessment into practice.
FP 11 - Managing drivers' fatigue

You will learn how to develop a fatigue risk management plan that includes preventative and counteracting measures. This course will also highlight the importance of fatigue management, its links to driver fitness, health and impairment.
FP 12 - Managing drivers’ hours

You will learn the legal framework of drivers’ hours, working time and record keeping and how these interact with each other. This course will also highlight how to analyse records to identify infringements and implement remedial measures to prevent recurrence.
FP 13 - Managing abnormal indivisible loads

You will learn the legal framework for transporting abnormal loads and both STGO and Special Order Movement notices. This course will also highlight how to notify the enforcement and highway authorities and ensure attendants and escorts are in place.
FP 14 - Introduction to fleet auditing

You will learn what it takes to be an objective auditor and the basics of auditing a fleet operation. This course will also highlight how quality standards apply in a transport setting, as well communicating, preparing, performing and following up on audits.
FP 15 - Road traffic collision investigation

You will learn what it takes to be an unbiassed investigator and the techniques needed to investigate collision evidence. This course will highlight the process of root cause analysis and how to make investigation recommendations for remedial action.
FP 16 - Introduction to Decarbonisation

You will gain an appreciation of the impact of carbon emissions, and the moral, economic and legal case for decarbonising the fleet. You will also learn how to prepare your operation for a carbon zero future whilst gaining confidence and competence in the decarbonisation minefield.
FORS Practitioner Recertification
FORS Practitioner Recertification Course
The one-day FORS Practitioner Recertification workshop enables FORS Practitioners to renew their qualification after five years. It provides an informative update from the full Practitioner course, as well as an insight into the specific evidence needed to progress throughout the scheme.
The FORS Practitioner Recertification course is offered at a discounted rate of £160 to FORS Operators and £320 to non FORS Operators and needs to be undertaken prior to your certificate expiry date.
You must complete FORS Practitioner Recertification prior to your certificate expiry date. You will need to start your FORS Practitioner journey again if your certificate expires.
